The traditional halabos uses less liquid and is probably the most common way of cooking shrimp locally. This version of cooking the shrimp is a bit soupy. It’s a preference but the difference is just the amount of of liquid you use for cooking.
You may also use plain water instead of sprite but some people like the sweet taste it brings to the cooked shrimp. Remember to use medium high heat. The shrimp will cook quickly and remember, it will still cook a bit when pulled from the pan since the shrimps will still have residual heat from the cooking process.
Step 1: Place all the ingredients except the shrimp in the pan and bring it to a boil.
Step 2: Add the shrimp and stir once in a while until cooked.
Step 3: Serve and Enjoy!
