admin, November 27, 2013

Or in english: “Fried yellow tail fusilier with kamote top broth”.  Long name but tasty, good for you and this is one super simple dish you can prepare in even the smallest size condo unit. The high point would be the simple broth which is a good way to get some veggies.  This is reminiscent of the simple broths served a long time ago in remote fishing villages.  Okay, okay I’m just romaticizing it but it goes really well with the fried fish and this is a dish even a guy can cook!

  • 4 pcs of Dalagang Bukid (1 fish per serving)
  • 3 Tomatoes
  • 1 medium sized onion sliced
  • 1 tablespoon of Fish sauce
  • A couple of handfuls of talbos ng kamote

The Fish

Fry the fish in hot oil.  Uh yeah, that’s about it.

The broth

Fill a medium sized saucepan 2/3 of the way with water.  Place the onions, tomatoes and fish sauce in and bring to a boil, then simmer.  When the tomatoes are soft you can place the kamote tops in.  After a coupe of minutes turn the heat off and you’re done.

And there you go, a fun and easy dish that anyone can cook.  Yeah, yeah, technically we didn’t cook this in a condo but you get the point right?  This is a dish that doesn’t take up a lot of space to prepare.  You can serve it up with rice and soy sauce with kalamansi.

The final test.

I think this dish passes with flying colors, don’t you agree?
