Akira is a sushi and teppanyaki restaurant.
Location: 5th Level of East Wing, Shangri-la Plaza Mall, Mandaluyong City, Philippines
Unique feature: Their chefs can cook the teppanyaki in front of you, which gives entertainment value as well. I think the same concept can be done with pinoy cooking since we have a lot of items that can be cooked on the grill as well.
Anyway, here are a couple of videos that you’ll find interesting. The reason for the heart shape is that this was taken on Valentine’s day. And in the second video, checkout the flame effects.
Let’s see. Pinoy cooking adobo with this kind of flair. Maybe ensaladang talong? Or maybe a tomato and salted egg salad. Yeah those can be done with excess style. Surely. Now we’ll just have to wait until a pinoy restaurant starts doing it.
