Bistek is thin slices of beef cooked with soy sauce and onions. It’s a really simple and yummy dish.

Ingredients:

1/2 kilo Beef cut into thin slices
1/4 cup Soy Sauce
1/4 cup Calamansi juice
1/2 tsp Sugar
1 pc large Onion cut into 1/8 inch slices
1/2 cup Water
2 to 3 tbsp Cooking oil
Pepper

Procedure:

In a bowl combine the beef, soy sauce, calamansi juice and sugar.
Mix the beef and the ingredients together.
Place in the refrigerator and marinate for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
In a pan, place the cooking oil and saute the onions.
Remove the onions and set aside.
Remove the beef from the marinade mixture and brown both sides of the beef in the pan.
Add the water, cover and simmer until the beef is tender.
Add the marinade mixture, onion and pepper to the pan.
Cover and simmer for 3 minutes.
Serve and enjoy!
